I have added Bill G4NOL to the list as he requested, but I have not received an email from him yet. I checked QRZ.COM and no email address on there so Bill, please email me ASAP if you wish to attend.
Bootcamp will take a slightly different format this spring, in that we will be conducting some tests in the afternoon for those that want it. Please give some thought to the speed at which you will be comfortable and you can end up with a Proficiency Certificate - pictures for Radcom!

Summer Resess
.
After Bootcamp there will be a break in the normal classes as a routine, but if time permits and/or weather dictates, there may still be a class as per the schedule, so please do look and find out. Chris G4CCX has said his classes will carry on as normal without a break. I guess he doesn't just have as much grass............
.
Beginners on the air net.
.
We are looking to run a series of QSO contacts on the air, especially for those who are nervous about making a first QSO, but also for those who would like a few practice runs before actually taking the plunge. The suggestion is to operate local CW on 10 metres with a talk back freq of 145.250mHz. If you are interested in doing this, please let me have a few times/days that you would prefer to use and we can then arrange a schedule. The intention is to have several taking part from the tutor side and only having one QSO at a time. I do understand that some are nervous about operating in a Net situation, so this will NOT be a net. Send your list to me at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we can then set something up on a regular basis.
.
So far I have received only 3 suggestions and contacts of interest. There are five tutors ready to go with this suggestion, so please let's see some input or at least an expression of interest. The concensus of opinion is that a ten metre vertical would probably be the best antenna to use, small and easy to erect.
.Marconi Day
.
.
Operators are still needed for Marconi Day at Caister Lifeboat Station. This is Saturday April 27th, the day before Bootcamp. It is a fun day however, and there is a cafe nearby where we usuall have lunch. Laura M0LJD usually brings a couple of cakes too! Although it is mainly a CW event, we do run SSB and Data as well. If you are interested enough to operate for an hour, please let Steve G0KYA know and he will add you to the list.

Great to see the support that Paul M1AFQ is receiving at the Club with his Morse in the Computer Room practice sessions. Try it! It really is fun.
