AGM voting, accounts and Agenda - Updated
Since early January I have been reminding members to make sure they vote for their favourite talk by a member in 2018 so that we can present the award at the AGM - voting forms are at the club every week near the canteen and all full and concession paying members are eligible to vote.
We also need nominations for those people you would like to run your club for the following year from the AGM - again the nomination file for all officers and committee is there each week near the canteen area.
Please note that as announced to those present on Wednesday 27th February, the AGM will be held on Wednesday April 10th. The AGM is normally held on the first meeting in April, but many key officers and committee members (including the chairman, vice chairman, secretary and committee who deputises for the secretary) would all have been unable to attend on 3rd April, so it was discussed with the committee and some of the membership that as there is good notice it would make good sense to hold it a week later when all of these key people can make it. Accordingly we will also be proposing at the AGM that the constitution is formally updated to allow for eventualties such as availability, weather or venue difficulties in the future. April 10th was originally a social informal which will now be held on 3rd April.
As in previous years the Accounts are now available to view under documents on the club website, though note you will first have to sign in to the website to view them. If you have any queries on the accounts it will be helpful for all sides to know about this before the AGM by sending detais to the secretary or Treasurer. This is not to try and avoid a question, but to ensure that relevant documents etc can be brought to the meeting so that the question can be discussed and hopefully answered by the Treasurer at the AGM rather than later. Even the Prime Minister has prior notice of her PM Questions so that she is prepared! The agenda will also be available to view and download before the AGM, but note that only limited numbers of printed copies of these documents will be available on the night to cut down on paper waste.
If you wish to record your apologies, or have an item you wish to be included on the agenda please let the secretary know.
