Welcome to week three of NARC’s contest news.
Firstly a reminder that the NARC contest net takes place every Friday evening at 9pm clock time on 145.250MHz. This is a useful place to exchange contest information and get help with logging and station setup issues etc.
There have been several contests over the past week in which NARC members have participated.
I've had no input from anyone with news updates or requests this week. If you would like anything mentioned or have any news please contact me on the email address at the end of this article.
We are always on the lookout for new contesters to add to our team and welcome people of any ability who either wish to add their score to ours or develop their skills.
This year we have won the local club section of the CC contest series which runs on 80m including CW, SSB, and RTTY/PSK modes.
We are active in the Autumn series of 80M RSGB contests at the moment and are currently in overall first place in the local clubs section having stretched our lead in thelast two sections.
Recent activity :-
On Wednesday evening we had a Data section of the Autumn contest series with 15 logs submitted. Excellent scores were had by all stations particular mention for Lorna 2E0YAO with 58 contacts and Peter M0RYB achieving 98 contacts with only 10 watts.
On Tuesday evening we had the 70cm leg of the UKAC series, conditions were poor here but 3 of us have submitted entries. After the latest results of the recent 70MHz leg we've moved up to 22nd place in the General Clubs section for this band and in the 1.3GHz section we are currently lying 18th. The 50MHz leg took place on 14th October immediately prior to publishing this article, 5 stations from the club were heard on the band, G3YLA, G4DYC, G8VPE, G4PFZ and myself G4LPP.
NARC is currently lying in 16th place out of 73 entries in the General club section for the overall UKAC.
Last weekend saw several USA QSO parties. I found the activity from Arizona and South Dakota parties interesting and managed to work many counties in each area on CW. The Oceania DX CW test was on last weekend but I have no reports of NARC members having participated.
