 get involved

Morse Classes for winter 2021 are starting very soon. This will depend on students of course. If you wish to learn Morse Code and become a proficient operator, the best way is to join a class. We cater from the raw beginner to the advanced operator wishing to increase speed levels, no matter what that may be.
.
Obviously the Covid situation is affecting us all but if you are marooned at home and don't go far, look at it as a great opportunity to learn CW and see just what can be done with a great mode. You should be able to do at least 30 minutes practice per day in order to achieve a decent standard so if you cannot do this, please don't think that just attending a class once per week is enough, it isn't.
.
We will also hopefully be running a sending practice class on Zoom. If you have a camera near to your key, this will be necessary so that the tutor can teach the correct technique, whether it is a straight key or a paddle. This will be a new venture but is the nearest we can get to the Bootcamp situation under the circumstances. We would also like to see you active on the air making real QSOs, not the rubber stamp 599 73 type, but with conversation involved, so the sending practice will be good for this.
.
FIRST however, we need to know if anybody will be joining in, starting early October, so please email your name and call to me so I can see just how many are likely to be involved. This will include those that were on the courses last year, to confirm your continuing interest. We will set up classes depending on this information so please don't leave it, DO IT NOW!
.
I look forward to hearing from as many as possible. If you would like to discuss things first, also email me, we don't bite!

..................................................................................

This was sent to the Newsletter and so far I have had five responses, so very pleased with that. Tutors will be having a Zoom meeting soon to discuss the coming winter schedule and classes will be announced on here as soon as they have been decided.

Even if you are NOT a beginner but would like to attend a class, PLEASE email me and get on the list. Let me know what speed roughly you are at so we can allocate you a class. The range has no limits so from zero to 30wpm will be accepted.

NARC Training 2020

Amateur Radio Training with NARC

Training is very important to NARC because we realise this is how new people come into the hobby and attain their Foundation, Intermediate and Advance Amateur Radio licenses.
We are pleased to offer courses which are based on demand and our programme of other events and activities. To register your interest for a course and exam please email your name and contact details, together with which level of training course you are waiting for,  to the Club Exam Secretary David Palmer G7URP: This email address is being protected from spambots.
